KME angle variations when jaw is rotated?

I have sharpened a bunch of knives now on my KME and its great and with the chosera water stones I get really sharp and pretty edges..... but being an retired engineer I like to know what angle I am sharpening at. So I have been using an angle cube. The KME wobbles on the base some but that does not matter as long as you can find 0 degrees baseline on the jaws (with calibration of the cube). I have been putting a steel ruler in the jaws and zeroing that out. But I noticed that when I rotate the jaws I get about a half degree change from zero. Not trusting the base I mounted it on a vice and calibrated the ruler to 0 degrees. Rotated the jaws. And I get a repeatible .5 degree difference. So.....

1. Its only 1/2 degree... forget about it.

OR

2. Has anyone else found this and fixed it?

Consistency is more important than accuracy. 1/2 deg.? Wouldn't sweat it... it makes no difference.

my kme never is correct on both sides. when I flip it, its off by between 1/2 to 1deg. and it shows when I'm done. plenty sharp just not perfect. this is why I want to try an edge pro to compare. the new hapstone looks interesting too with all the addons it has.

I've noticed this too with my KME. I don't believe it affects anything realistically. If you mark the jaws on the side with the slightly flatter angle, then you could adjust the angle by 1/2 degree when flipping sides. I think I'll skip that step though.

Is it possible the knife (or ruler) is skewed in the clamp by .5 deg?
If so, could you pack out one side with tape or something?

I've seen no inconsistency when rotating my KME at all. Also I don't understand why or how it would wobble on the base. If it is tight and on a solid surface I don't see how it would. Mine is rock solid. But, as has been said. I wouldn't worry about 1/2 a degree anyway.
