KME diamond stones on the edge pro

Has anyone used the kme diamond stones on the edge pro. I have the edge pro system but the lower grit stones wear out so fast and need a lot of maintenance. I have seen the kme diamond stone and they look like they would last a lot longer. I do like the edge pro polishing tapes they put on an amazing finish so I would be using them to finish the diamond stone sharpening. Am I crazy or is there a better option? thanks

WELCOME!

It's been done and they work well.

BUT ... you're going to need some kind of 'adapter/spacer' in order to use KME or DMT stones on the Edge Pro as the EP stones are 6" while the KME and DMT are 4". (IIRC, DMT makes the KME diamond stones.)

Also the overall thickness may vary and will throw off the angle settings.

As for other options ... there are EP diamond stones available on the big auction site for $5 each in 200, 500, 800 grit. Probably not as good quality as DMT though.

Edge Pro also sells diamond stones.

You can also do this...

... works well for reprofiling (and same length & thickness as regular EP stones).

The apostle p on youtube mentioned in one of his videos that chefknivestogo sells a diamond stone that fits the edgepro iirc.

They have the atoma plates cut for the edge pro and they push the 6" dmt plate as shown above.
Don't get me going on the apostle p...:barf:
