KME just keeps getting better...

That's sweet. That was my only complaint too. I always used the angle cube method and checked with the sharpie. I'll be excited to get one. Nice lookin out man. Thanks.

Well.. After watching this a few times.. I do have a few questions.. But maybe after using it they will be answered.. I hope.. John

Sweet so not log to wait. I'm excited, I'll finally be able to buy the chosera stones. I was holding back simply because I didn't want to adjust for every stone. :)

I got my roo strop set coming as well...

Sharpening can be very addictive.

Didn't you say you had a kangaroo strop ? If not kangaroo is good stuff ,it's a little thinner and a different feel than cow leather . I won one in a PIF on here years ago and cut it a few weeks ago...

It's great that Ron is making the "stone thickness compensator" available to those who do have different thicknesses of stones so it's not a hassle to keep the same bevel when changing stones. I have the gold series stones and also the strops which are all the same thickness so I don't have to mess with the slight differences in bevel adjustments. I think I have all the stones I'll ever need, but you never know. It's nice to have an add-on available just in case.
I also like his mini jaws as an option that adds more versatility so I can sharpen narrower blades.

I got a strop with the 4m emulsion. I loved it so much I bought the set. So I'll have an extra bottle and strop.

They added something else...

I'm sorry, did the kme just pull ahead in sharpening capabilities? Can the Wicked Edge and edge pro do this? I'm sure they can all handle recurve blades but I'm not sure, can someone confirm?

I know the worksharp KO makes wonderful convex edges, and with the blade grinder attached you have finer control over that.

Yes the edge pro can convex as can the wicked edge you just sharpen change the angle sharpen change the angle etc .

Listen bucket, I didn't even know edge pal existed until now... Lol

But to be fair I was referring to the wicked edge and edge pro. Which so far don't do convex edges as far as I know.

What does blond hair have to do with it? :P

Here is what Spartan00 was talking about, its pretty much like convexing on a hard stone , set two bevels, then blend them,

I'm just happy the KME is constantly improving. The wood finish on it really makes it stand out to me. It wouldn't be the same if it was all metal. Still feels old fashion, but in the now... I don't know, I'm strange I guess.

I still want a wicked edge...

I invented the bended guide rod for about 15 years ago and all my sharpening tools are delivered with both a straight guide rod for straight edges and a bended (or angled) guide rod for convex edges.

I think that it should had been nice and polite if KME had said that they used my (EdgePal) invention on their tool, their "new function" is a direkt copy of my invention that is about 15 years old now.

But, that said, KME, and all other producers of sharpening tools, are free to use my invention, the bended (or angled) guide rod.
