I just receved a KME system and I'm having trouble keeping some blades securely clamped. The blades move slightly. Has anyone else had this problem, and does anyone have any tips? P.S. I love the gold series diamond hones.

Second question:: I was hoping my DMT aligner stones would fit on the KME stone holder. If the threaded part of the attachment screw was just a bit longer, the stones would work. Any solutions for this? I would really like to use my 8000 grit aligner stone with the KME system.

What size knives are you using? I too recently picked up a KME sharpener. I really like it, but I have found that knives which are thin in blade thickness and small in blade width can be difficult to hold perfectly tight in the jaws. The main culprits for me are some very thin and narrow paring knives and a small pen knife. So far I've just lived with it, figuring if there's some movement it should still produce a reasonably sharp edge, which it has. I'm thinking about investing in the pen knife jaws, which seem to be designed specifically for small, thin blades. Alternatively, I may try a few layers of painters tape on the flats of the blade to see if this provides a little more for the jaws to hold on to.

Wrap the knives in thin rubber for more thickness. Extend the reach. with a tube and longer threaded rod.
