Hey guys I'm on the fence about getting one of these and I was hoping to get some feedback from anyone that owns one.
The only thing I'm really hung up on is will it fit smaller knives in the clamp. I've got quite a bit traditional pocket knives and I'm not sure if they will fit. Also have you ever had an instance where you wanted to go steeper than 17 degrees, say maybe with kitchen knives? Does anyone make strops that would fit for the kme or do you need to go custom. Besides that the only things is maybe you could recomend a new dealer. Thanks in advance!

Can't answer all of your questions. Re the small blades - it is no better or worse than any of the clamp type sharpeners. They will fit but there are limits on the sharpening angle as the stone has to clear the clamp and the edge on a small blade will always be close to the clamp. - this is not as much of an issue with wider blades. The thing I like most about the KME is the ability to swivel the knife over to the other side without removing it from the clamp or removing the rod and stones. If you get one then I recommend the wooden base as well. They are well made and I prefer mine to the other clamp sharpeners that I have. You can use any existing DMT, Lansky rods, holders, stones that you might already own. Re dealers - I bought mine on line from the maker. They have on line ordering and are fine to deal with.
