You do not need to disassemble the guide rod from the stone holder, to place the unit in the new factory case. It just fits!

The base also fits in the new box!

Dude no disrespect, I like what your doing with your improvising/improving sharpening equipment but your pictures drive me crazy (all of 'em, not just this one).

Agree. I like what you are doing also but the pic presentations give me a headache.

If you guys get a headache looking at this, you are not looking at a 30 minute tv show, remember. lol

Add a Micro Roller Bearing between the jaw tightening nut and the aluminum spacer. The tightening of the jaws should be much smoother. Just ordered a pair.

This system is shipped pretty dry. Conventional oils, may not be the best, as there are so many different parts, made from so many dissimilar materials. The best lube for this system IMHO is factory Glock lube, Loctite C5A

Any more tips on this system?
Dozier

I put a bigger knob on the spring tensioner, for comfort. I swapped the screw for the slider knob with a slightly longer one so I can flip the ball guide assembly for low-angle work without removing the knob. The most helpful mod was to anchor the J bracket with 3/8" bungee cord attached to eyelets at the corners of the wood base. This eliminates the excess play that makes using an Angle Cube so difficult. I also put a steel collar under the handle and filled the gap between the collar and the handle with heat-moldable plastic (ThermoMorph) to further eliminate play.

Keep better control of your stones and diamond sharpeners, and protect your investment, with a perfectly sized clear box to keep them in.........

I can't for the life of me find a source for those little telescopic plastic tubes (without buying several hundred...), they look perfect. Does anyone have any ideas?
