For those interested in some KME upgrades, here are some of my latest upgrades and modifications for the KME sharpening system:

Stone Holders - Any 4 inch or 6 inch:

Clamps, clamps and more clamps. KakBritva, Hapstone and TSProf clamps on KME:

Wooden Base stabilizer system to remove wobble in your KME:

Fine tuning frame for micro angle adjustment, stone thickness compensator and sharpening rod parking hook:

Love the wobble-free upgrades. That was the biggest issue with the KME for me. Not so much that it wobbles while sharpening, because I always held it in hand while sharpening, but that it's impossible to measure a precise, consistent angle when the sharpening unit wobbles on the base.

Do the stone holders have metal plates on top for angle cubes?
No ferrous metal inside but I designed the top section perfectly flat and parallel with the stone, and the rear moveable stone clamp to act as a stopper so your angle cube won't slide off while being used. If you prefer having a metal plate, then there are some magnetic metal plates available for sale online that has a double sided tape backing and can be stuck onto the top of the stone holders.

BTW, at the top of the fine tuning frame that I designed, you'll see a small platform thats also used for zeroing your angle cube. Very handy.

I also have a LED floodlight system that can be used in combination with the fine tuning frame and a small articulating arm. To be released in the near future on Gritomatic.
