KME vs WE Field

A friend offered me my choice of the KME Diamond with the base or a WE Field for about the same price. Both are brand new. Which should I go with? I almost bought the KME a few months ago after researching it, but have heard nothing but good things about WE. I know there are better models of WE, but they are out of my price range.

I would go with the Wicked Edge. It's an amazing product that is only getting better and has great customer service behind it.

Is the Field model as amazing as the more expensive versions? Are there any issues? Is it harder to clamp the blade in a WE correctly than in the KME?

It's all personal preference as they will both produce a sharp knife. Your technique will play a far bigger role in the results you get than either system.

What comes with each system? What stones? Any other accessories? The WE fully loaded is tuff to beat. But the field version is not the same as the "pro" version. You might want to research the 2 WE versions to see if the field version will fill your needs. Figure that you may want to expand t your system. Will the field version do it for you?

Both the KME and WE Field come with 4 stones that would fit my needs. I'm leaning towards the KME because it seems easier to use. I don't have to bolt it down and there is just a knob to turn to set the knife.

The adjustments to set the WE make sense though because it adapts to each knife. I'm not sure how the KME maintains angle consistency with knives of different sizes.
