My new grinder arrived today,(thanks rob) Now it's all painted and ready to rock..I have a few pic's of my workshop.. The 1st 2 are the leather work and planning area, Then the drill press + tempering oven, assembly area, welding area, new grinder & portaband, Anvil and forge, other grinders, forge again, and KMG V/S set up (the grey box is a 60amp airconditioner power switch to turn the VFD on/off) I still need a heat treat oven or a pyrometer for the forge so I can heat treat correctly.. thanks for looking..:D

wow nice shop  i cant wait to move out and get a place of my own where i can actually work. my "work" area keeps getting filled up with garage sale items

Nice shop! I ordered my KMG day before yesterday. Can't wait. Think I'll have to move out of the little room in the basement to a bigger one, though. You look like you have lots of good space in yours.

Cooool!!! But that forge in the cellar is scary.

I agree. Forges inside are scarey creatures.

Nice shop though. Tip: Paint all your walls white and its like having twice as much light in there.

I also got a little nervous about that forge set-up, primarily because I didn't see any ventilation system there. That carbon monoxide can mess you up!

Nice set up though. And congrats on the new grinder!

My shop didn't look that clean before I moved into it. I have to agree with the forge in the basement, that scares me.

thanks for the comments and concerns. As far as carbon monoxide and ventilation, I have a KIDDIE carbon monoxide/explosive gas detector within 5 ft of the forge, I also have a 1200cfm squirel cage hooked to a stove vent hood that draws quite a lot of air, this along with 2 open windows (opening 12"X12") and keeping the basement door cracked open 8-10" keeps me from worring too much about the gas problem... I am hoping however to eventually get an "outside" shop. I'm not a big fan of fire/explosions in a house. Take it easy guys...........BTW does anyone know where I can get a heat/rate of rise detector (the smoke alarm is always going off)????:D

Rocketman - I had an unpleasant carbon monoxide experience once, so I guess I've developed a bit of a phobia about it. The stuff can really sneak up on you. Sounds like you've taken some good precautions though. Again, real nice shop.

I feel your pain, my newly built 18x24 shop was filled with junk before I could finish building my first work table :jerkit:
I'm counting the days until we have warm enough weather to sell everything! The good news is I can get more toys with the money.

Rene, it was a pleasure for me as well, thanks for taking time to point me in the right direction. I look forward to seeing you at the hammer in.....

I feel your pain man. I want a shop, not a bench, a part of one for that matter.

Nice setup:thumbup: having that much space would only make me get more stuff to put in it:D Have fun with the new KMG!

Believe me it does't look like this very often.. when I make a knife or hawk it looks like someone threw a hand grenade in there. my wife is allways shocked at the mess I can generate in a few hours..:D
