While greasing the bearings one of the zerk sheared off. :(
Getting the remaining part out of there will be a giant pain. Can I just cover it up and squirt grease in there from time to time?

I asked Rob about that myself a few years back. They're not functional.

I was surprised by the small amount of grease it took.:D

Thanks Count and Troop. I so did not want to have to replace them.

Removing grease zerks isn't as hard as you think. they have a through hole already and a cheap EZ-out bolt remover gets them out slick as a whistle, and also because they're difficult to get really tight as the threads are small to begin with and with all the grease around them there is usually no or little corrosion on the threads. We do it often at my work.

Thanks Tinker, that's good to know cause even if I know it doesn't matter, it bugs me to leave it like that.
I think I have a problem. :(

Tinker, just to let you know you were absolutely right. Got a screw extractor and it came right out no problem.
Now there is a brand new non-functioning Zerk fitting in there and all s right with the world. ;)
Thanks.

Yes DB57, these are completely decorative now! But even then, I just could not leave one broken like that. Is this what they call OCD?

I would have pulled them & plugged them So no one is tempted to grease them.

1/8"NPT or 1/4"-28 are the inch std sizes,
