got my kmg on the side porch this afternoon. took it to my shop, hooked it up, mounted the motor, but need to wait to use it for a pulley and some belts to come in the mail :( I cant wait to retire the 4x36 ryobi sander I had been using.

Derkins don't wait. Chewing gum, baling wire, duct tape. Use something - anything! - and make that baby spin!

What a cool toy.

Man, I can't believe the difference a good tool/ grinder makes.....night and day. The KMG is pretty solid state!

Hook your bike chain up to it and GO! :D I'm still waiting... Depending on what happens with some knives I'm trying to sell I'll either have the most basic KMG coming my way soon, or a fully-loaded Coote. If I go Coote I'll only have $25 left over for a motor and belts, right now, so either way some sales need to happen! :D
Enjoy it!

I got mine up and running last night (after a FEDEX nightmare). Ground 5 blades out in the barn - had the forge cooking to stay warm. I'm having some probs with the step pully set up and emailed Rob this AM. After a Craftsman grinder this thing is heaven!

PS Can't you get down to an Auto parts store for a belt that would work?

Goodluck,

PJG

Since this initial post, I have gotten the kmg up and running. It makes my old ryobi look like a sanding block. I too considered the coote, but once I had enough money for the coote, I figured I was too close to the kmg to turn away.

Once you start using it on a regular basis, you'll wonder how you lived without it. I adore mine so much I cover it with a blanket and kiss it goodnite every nite. :D Just kidding, it's really does make grinding so much easier.
