Man I am excited. I have a flat platen with a rubber 1 1/2 (top) and 3 inch wheel (below) so I can have multiple shapes to grind against without changing to the small wheel attachment that I also ordered :D

This is what I am working on at the moment....hope this speeds things up a bit in the future. I will love buying standard 2 x 72 belts! :D :D :D

if it hadn't been for the custom options I'd have never sold 2 damn good watches to pay for this bad a** grinder....I am a happy boy today! :D

Good move BL! You'll love it.

BTW Why have the contact wheel on top? I moved my 2" to the bottom. Seems dangerous to use it where the belts comin' at ya.

You sicken me. here I am with a homemade POS and the Pup gets a KMG. It just aint right :)

Just kidding Brian. You are going to love it.

Sando,

I saw the platen that Ed Caffrey has and I loved it. It was extra but I think it will be worth it. I wont gring much on the top one...dont like the idea of that belt flying twards me. The platen will rotate if I need the 1 1/2" wheel on the botom or.....the small wheel attachment..Wha hoo....

Latly I have been grinding higher up and I love looking down on things. Way more control.....

hey Mark...if you dont mind a 8' x 8' work space you can come grind anytime....

I just hate "rebuying" equipment so I just bit the big one and went for it......

I hear you on the rebuying. You made a wise choice. Now if I can just find a buyer for that extra kidney.....

I know about the kidney......I had to sell 2 cool watches to fund most of the grinder.....

Congrats Brian. I know you'll love it.

I have a 2" rubber wheel on top (on the flat platen attachment). I have never had a problem with grinding on it....easier to see exactly what I'm doing. I use it mostly for creating long gently arcs and for clean up on the spine and tang. I'd like to use it for making fullers, but haven't got that far yet.

For now....I'm just trying to save everything I can for that rotary platen.......yikes! $$

can you guys tell me if there is enough room...right and left side of the belt...

for making nice plunge cuts as the grinder will come to me or do I need to add a piece of 1/4" platen material to it?

If so I have a piece of pyrocream (sp.) that I have epoxyed to my grinder now. How can I get that sucker off?
