Posted this on the main forum but thought I'd add it here as well....

John of JK Knives has announced he will no longer be making my Knatchet design as he says it is not cost effective !
Fellow forumite echo-7 has just got one made in time, I'm sorry more people did not get chance to find out just what a handy tool this thing is.

Anyway I set of out with mine today on a Fatwood hunt...bet Bushmans ears pricked up then eh !!!!

Fatwood found so to work with the Knatchet....

Check out the smooth chops it makes....

I headed to a nice view spot to test out the quality of the fatwood, yeah this will do....

Now on to splitting some of the fatwood down a little....

The Knatchet makes fuzz sticks as good as any of my knives....

Now to add a little fatwood dust by scraping the fatwood with the blade...

2 strikes later...

At this point Maisy reminded me that it was time to move on...

Thanks again for making such an awesome tool John, everything as good as I'd hoped and then some !

As others have suggested, perhaps the knife-maker would relent -- for the right price?

That really is an interesting design.

I am going to change his mind about one of these for myself, later this year. Awesome!!!

Pitdog, when I saw this thread I immediately thought "Oh dear god, he BROKE it!?!?!"

Glad to see that wasn't the case--it looks like it is still going strong

Hi Rockywolf -

I agree - I hope that at least supporters could get one - and of course one would want to make it worthwhile for Stomper to make one.... :D

best regards -
