I have always admired simple beauty and the wood on a nice user gun is just that. I had one piece of black walnut and when I got my Marlin 336C I knew what it needed to acompany it :)

Blade is D2 at Rockwell 61

I must say when I see you pieces "I like the way you make knives" great designs, materials and craftsmanship. The blade is almost a Wharncliff but not, great looking blade.

Do you still have a year or two's work on order?

Nice....I like the shape of the handle butt.

here is a shot with the Marlin...........

Nice knife there :) Sort of a Bird n Trout style ?

Your knives seem to attract themselves to 30/30's !!

That's gorgeous! It's larger than I realized until seeing it with the rifle. What are the specs? Brian, when you made the last knife for me you were starting to use the D2 (I believe). Do you see any noticeable difference in cutting, edge holding, sharpenability compared with your use of 01?

well I have noticed this knife has a NASTY edge on it! Toothy and grabs BUT the hair just jumps off of your arm. So far I LIKE IT! Now resharpening may be a little tougher but I am happy with it. I think that the edge gets more toothy than 0-1 since this steel is less tough than 0-1. 0-1 is still my baby for out in the bush though.

The best compliment that I have on 0-1's capabilities is that an Alaskan guide uses 2 knives I made him for his main animal processing knives:thumbup:

This knife is 4 3/4" blade & 9 1/2" overall and is resting in my butcher block :)
