Well after spendng most of my time lately workng on setting up my shop instead of workng in it,I had a fire lt under my ass in the form of a buyer. He wanted a bowie, here's what he got.1095 blade,9.5" long, chainsaw damascus guard, ebony handle,14.25" overall.Hand-stitched leather sheath with snakeskin inlay and a mohogany display case.I made the damascus myself,I wanted everythng to match so I even made the handle pin and the button clasp on the sheath from the same damascus as the guard.(I get a little carried away sometimes)And it cuts real good too!I hung a piece of newspaper and sliced it into ribbons with both edges then chopped a 2x4 in half and it still shaved and best of all I got paid for it.

Holy Moses! That is awesome! It reminds me a bit of the Western Bowie... me likes! And with the sheath AND presentation box... that is awesome. Great work and very inspirational!

Wow,Stan, that really is the total package. Great job across the board. Very nice logo.
Happy Holidays, Greg

Nice work, I bet this knife will get with it. It looks like it would be real comfortable in the hand too. Great package. ;)

EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!

Be honest now. Knife number 13??????? It took me years of making and more knives than that before I made one that looked that good.:D

BTW, is that a temper line I see?

Go Stan. Ditto what Barry said except mine still don't look that good.
I think I just sold my first knife. I generally tape a dollar to them and let someone steal the whole thing. This time they left a quarter change.

Another forumite posts yet another spectacular knife! It's been a pattern lately and one that I'm really liking. That bowie is gorgeous!:) Nice display too.

Wow, man, that is Fantastic! You are one hell of a knifemaker, my hat's off to you. That's truly inspiring, thanks for sharing!

Looking at the pictures Stan, I am moved more by the wide range of skills you have than anything else. I am a better woodworker than metalworker and my leatherwork sucks. You seem to do it all and do it very very well.

Stan
I think that is an incredible piece of work! Great design, craftsmanship and presentation. Nice attention to detail!

Thank you for sharing and inspiring!

Stan shared #3 with me while at the Guild show this past year, and I found it pretty depressing that someone could get that good that fast. Clearly he had advanced a whole lot since then and this knife is certainly sufficient proof of his outstanding skills in most every aspect of making a fine knife. Great work Stan!

Thanks everyone,I'm kinda amazed at the way it turned out myself,it all sort of just fell together. It must be the new grinder, having a real grinder makes all the difference.Barry asked if that was a temper line, the temper line doesn't show in the pic, thats a grind line you see,it's triple ground. The stock was 1/4" so I ground the center grind to take some weight off.And yes this really is #13.Thanks again to all.

Man I could only hope mine could look like that back on about number 200 or so..
Great job,and keep up the great work.
