Here's my latest,11 inch blade, hollow ground,6 3/8" sharpened clip,17 inches overall. The blade was ground from a chainsaw bar.The guard, spacers and buttcap are chainsaw damascus. The spacers and buttcap are carved to match the Sambar stag handle, hand sewn buckskin sheath. The reason for using a chainsaw bar for this blade was because of the guy who ended up with the knife,he's a tree trimmer. He wore out the bar and the chains,I just re-cycled them for him.

Thats a fine looking blade, what kind of steel is a chainsaw bar made from. Great recycle job. If I could make one out of aluminum soda and beer cans I would have all kinds of material. :D

 WOW!

Stan,
That is a gorgeous piece of work! The butt cap work is a nice touch....I had to look at all of the photos on imagestation.

Thanks for sharing...! After your last one....I couldn't wait to see another...now I can't wait to see the next.

Take Care,
Rob

Great Knife, I like every detail. I've had trouble finding hard nosed chainsaw bars for a couple of years. They do make good blades. I'd also like to see the details on the buttcap. :)

Great to see an old cutting tool redone in such an exemplary fashion.
Fine job.

Regards, Greg

nice piece! cool looking grind... all those little touches really make that knife stand out:cool: great work!

She looks GREAT!!!!
That is a very cool way of doing the handle also.I like the idea of the spacer in front of the crown like that.

Rebos, I am fully chastened. You have built a beautiful knife worthy of all manner of fancy adjectives. That is sweet, your customer should be very happy indeed. I'd sure like to make something like that...

Heh heh...
