This knife has been sitting on my bench since last September. I am filled with relief that it is finally complete. This is my first attempt at filework, and only my second knife using frame-handle construction.

Some Stats:
Length: 14-1/8"
Blade: 8-3/8" (Tip to Choil)
Steel: Differentially heat-treated 1095 (from Kelly Cupples) Flat-Ground
Handle: This was an unlabeled set of scales from my stash (only marked "stabilized") - I believe it is Madrone burl, but don't quote me. ;) Frame is 1095.
Guard/Ferrule: 416ss w/ 1095 spacer

The handle color appears quite red in the second and third photos... while there is a red tint to the scales, the coloring is actually more of a brown like in the last two photos.

There are a couple small gaps in the blade/guard/frame fit-up that became apparent after the clamps were removed... but as a new maker, I am pleased overall with how this one turned out.

What do you think?

Thanks Jack.

Just a note... we got a few minutes without rain today, so I added a couple of outdoor photos that more accurately reflect the color of the handle. I also added a sheath yesterday.

Just a side note: this is also my first attempt at peening a domed handle pin... WAY more difficult than it looked in Nick's WIP. I've got a lot to learn… and a few mor jigs to build. ;)
