Thanks Bill.

We got some daylight today, so I added a couple of photos with the sheath.

Beautiful work, Erin! Excellent lines and execution.

Quick question, though - why didn't you put a thicker welt in the sheath? The knife will cut through that very quickly, unless the camera angle is playing tricks on me :)

Hey Ted... when you say "thicker", are you referring tho the WEIGHT (thickness) of the welt leather or the distance from the edge of the blade to the outside edge of the sheath? If you're talking about the WEIGHT of the welt leather... well the welt leather is thicker than any other leather on the sheath; though admittedly, I do taper the thickness of the welt toward the tip and edge of the knife (I believe I learned this from a Paul Long thread awhile ago... but don't quote me on that). If you're referring to the thickness of the welt from blade edge to outside edge of the sheath; the stitching is near the midpoint of the welt... so there's a decent amount of welt leather inside the stitching.
That being said, sheath-making is not my forte... I consider it a necessary evil. ;) :p But I'm certainly willing to listen to tips for improvement.

Thanks guys.

Thanks for the explanation, Erin. That makes sense. I was talking about the weight of the leather. It looked a bit thin on the pictures, but if it's tapered then great! I haven't heard of Paul tapering his welts, but it is possible (he doesn't mention anything about it on any of his DVD's either). I'll ask him next time I talk to him.

BTW, for someone who sees sheath making as a "necessary evil", you do a pretty bang-up job!
