A little different with very slight tang taper to keep the tang end thick for hammering and batoning. Thanks for looking. Oh, scales are ironwood. Steel is S30V. Pins are copper.

I never get tired of seeing them Rodger. This one is especially good looking but it still has that no-nonsense working knife aura to it! ;)

That's a beautiful working knife, Roger! Your client won't want to use it. It's too pretty! You are pretty good with your pictures, too.

Nice palm swell, and very subtle taper. You must have nerves of steel to grind like that, it's flawless. You sure have this one down Roger, I'm always glad to see em. Looks like you're finding a niche to exploit perfectly! Keep it up and thanks for sharing,

Nice Roger - Do you use a grinding jig? Your grinds are always dead on. Nice wood and handle contours.

Looks good Roger, I realy like the exposed end for hammering. Lets face it, knives get called on to do a lot more than just cut.

oh for hammerin on the blade.

Same thing, Why the HEdouble toothpicks would you want tooo

Course knowing people the way i do.......

Thanks fellows. Much appreciated, as always.

I believe the owner wanted it made that way so that he could baton down into wood. I personally also think it would be good for cracking lobster claws and if I had the money would be glad to field test that feature.

Brian, I use no jigs for grinding bevels. I once thought of making one but then decided it not a good way to learn.

Tom, I machine profile to 220 grit then hand finish to 600 grit, then buff with matchless white compound.
