A Very Good customer of mine had asked me to make this knife. Originally the cant was not to be as severe but as the hatchet edge is rather short it was necessary to give it a lot of handle cant and that was the ticket for this one. Handles quit well. She is 13 inches OAL with a 6 13/16 blade made of D2. Max blade width is 2 1/2 inches. Copper and stainless bolts in black micarta. The finish is bead blast over 400 grit. Thanks for the look.

Nice, I am grinding on one that looks very similar. I do like the arc in the knife. I haven't ground a step down like that in a blade yet, we'll see what happens. Frank

That looks like a nice version of that style of knife! Are you cutting knives like that our of sheets of steel or do you have bars that wide?

Thanks fellows. I buy bars of steel for these. That one required 3 inch wide bar. The WSK I have been making requires less than that, 2 1/2 inches.

nice job Roger

I'll bet the teath dig in hard...at that cant
the front of them is just about at a 90 deg angle to the center line of the handle..

Roger that's just awesome, I really like the idea. You sure have those saw teeth down to a science. :) Keep this up and I'm going to move in with you! (To learn how to make knives I mean!)
