I hope to post a finished picture of this one soon. The owner of this knife wanted a Hurricane SCK but with a larger blade and handle. I thought the double position WSK handle would lend itself well to the purpose of use (chopping and cutting). I have named this pattern after the community in Alaska he resides. Below is a picture of the unfinished Kenai (keen-eye) SCK. She is O1 steel, 14 1/8 inches OAL, 8 1/8 inch blade, 2 inches wide. Thanks for taking a look. I rarely post an unfinished knife but ... well (BTW I really love my Rob Frink horizontal grinder.)

Damm Roger, thats one mean looking chopper. Looks pretty finsihed to me. I really like the way you contour the handle. Nice job.

Roger, that is an awesome knife. The design just makes you want to grab it and start chopping. The double finger groove that allows for a second grip is very useful. As always, your work is just splendid.

Thanks. I kinda thought some of you night guys might take a look. This particular one is 1/4 inch. Yes, it is removal. I do not forge.

RL - I like that alot, very nice profile. How do you like O1? I just bought some but have not really tried much with it yet.

looking good RL. I myself love the tracker handle design. Feels good too ;)

I like it!

Awesome bushwhacker RL :D Could you briefly tell how you are using the horizonal grinder? What steps in the making of the knife that is. May be a future investment for me. :)

I was tank'n the same thing... I like the grinder! :) and the blade is great too!! that'l work like magic on 'Devil's Club" uhm... with the addition of a damned basket hilt!! . When I first got to Alaska I thought: what a beautiful and really cool place!, no mean veggies to deal with ( i.e. briars, mesquite, stickers, goat heads'n such...) then I met the Devil. :( Lord! who invited that stuff??

Thanks guys. I want to answer some questions here (about the grinder and stuff) but Moma Goose has returned from a 2 week trip and I'm leaving to lay in bed, watch movies and eat ice cream. I'll be back.

Thanks again.

(and I want to find out what the devil is)

As good a reason as any!

BTW, what's unfinished about it? Etch your mark and it'd look good to me!

If he's like most guys he'll be back in 3 minutes, and that includes watching the movie, the ice cream, AND the other stuff! ;)

Cool knife, Roger! You could spread both halves of a PB&J at camp in one swipe with that bad boy! ;) Chop Chop Chop

Yeah, I just BET you had ice cream! That knife is a beauty, Roger! Just one look at that knife will keep the bears out of camp.
