I am 13 and I think I am in the early stages of knife addiction. I spend all of my time either in the woods, fishing, or on blade hq and the benchmade website. Most of my buddies have a cheaper kershaw or gerber but when I show them my benchmade and tell them it was 200 dollars they look at me like I should be in a mental facility. Is anyone else around 13 into higher end knives or was anyone when they were younger?

Not when I was 13, but then again the internet didn't exist back then. Different times. Enjoy the quality knives we didn't have access to in the stone age. :)

I wish I had a Benchmade, Spyderco, or CRK knife 30 years ago......
Enjoy your knife safely.

I enjoyed knives when I was 13 but it was the 80's and I was in love with SAKs, Old Timer Stockmen and my Buck110. Things are so much different now.

You are lucky having the options you do at your age. These are great times!

When I was a tad older than you are now, I bought a Hackman Tapio Wirkkala from the Leichtung catalogue (no Internet back then!). It cost me maybe $35 (equates to about $100 now) and my mother just about had a fit when she saw it (appreciated it, just didn't like me buying knives). But I still have it and it was my constant companion on many an outdoor adventure. Take care of your knife, go slow, and avoid risks to avoid the hospital!

Oh, and get the most you can out of your knife. It'll help you appreciate future purchases when you save up enough for another.

I had a Benchmade Mini Stryker auto when I was in the 7th grade, till my friend kicked it into the water from the dock. I learned my lesson, that was the only knife I ever lost. After that I got a Rift Auto, and began my knife addiction.

I know the feeling!
When I was a 12 years old adventurous Frenchman, all I wanted was this incredible American made knife, the coveted Buck 110, instead of local Opinel and Laguiole. They were not imported yet. I saw them in a trip to the US, but could not afford one. They were highly regarded in the 1980's in Europe.
I had one offered by a colleague of my dad, whose son was living in LA and shipped it to me...

Still got it 30 ys later, and I'm still having pride of ownership. Addiction began at the very moment I opened the knife the 1st time.

As others have said, be careful and don't do anything too stupid with your knife! I have been an addict since I was 6 or 7 because my grandfathers both had numerous old knives and my dad was a big hunter so he had quite a few, too, so I always had a little slip joint in my pocket. My mom would take them away and one of them would always give me another of their older ones

My mom gave me a shoe box when I turned 16 and it was full of knives (all that she had confiscated over the years)...

I'm 16 and I love to tell non knife people that my CRK inkosi costs $450 just so I can watch them sh*t their pants LOL!!!

My addiction started when I was 8 and I got a buck bantam it all went downhill from there now I'm looking into a Todd begg bodega
