I currently own a crkt m16-14zsf, a leatherman wave, the new version, a sog field pup, a victorinox swiss champ that came without the pliers,a gerber paraframe. and a victorinox spartan. I am looking to trade up some of them to nicer knives. what would you reccomend to trade for which one? $100 dollars or less is preferable, but i can do more, maybe. thanks

You can get a new Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in S30v blade-steel for about $100. Great knife. My favorite.

+1 on the Paramillie 2. Or for a few dollars more you can also get another leading favorite, the Caly 3.5. To best determine which one meets your preferences and ergonomic considerations, which are highly individual considerations, try to find a store or a friend that has these knives so you can inspect either in person to check out size, blade style, steel, etc.

+1 on both knives mentioned above. They are great.
Also another good knife - also from Spyderco - The Native.
You can get the Native with FRN and s30v for $50. It's a great knife. Fits the hand like a glove, good steel, and just makes a great user. I think you'd enjoy it. And... you could probably trade one of those you have for one and keep your others. Which would be awesome. The Native and Spartan would make a sweet pair.

Also is your knife the Swisschamp and the pliers were removed? If not I bet it's the Champion/Champion Plus which is basically a Swisschamp without pliers. =]

I think the "Swisschamp without the pliers" is actually called the "Champion." There aren't too many people looking to trade a higher end folder for a bunch of cheaper ones, but you could sell the ones you have and buy a nicer knife. If you're planning to sell a decent amount of knives, I'd suggest you invest in a gold membership to sell them here, they become well worth it very quickly. You don't have to pay the extra 7% or so for each sale that ebay charges, and you'd generally be selling to a more knowledgeable group of people.

As for a nice knife around $100 or less, you take a look at the Kershaw Speedform 2, Benchmade Griptilian or 710, and Spyderco Manix 2 or Paramilitary 2. A lot of it really depends on what you want in a knife, one of the most important distinctions being whether you want a thinner knife that carries more easily and slices better, or a beefier knife that won't cut as well and is heavier, but is more durable.

agree with previous recommendations of the para 2 or the native 5, if you want a smaller blade length
