"Knife and Tomahawk Throwing by Harry K. McEvoy"

Has anyone read this? Wondering if it's worth picking up. Also anyone know any other good books on the tomahawk?

We have it in stock and it was one of the first books I ever read. I originally got it because it has pictures of Skeeter Vaughn "Grey Otter". He was one of the frontier show guys who used to go to all the shows and throw tomahawks at pretty girls but his history is what's so awesome. He was one of the original Moccassin Rangers in WWII and was responsible for the most kills with a knife. He also saved his unit from being discovered by throwing a knife and killing a sentry with a bayonet modified into a throwing knife.
I'll have to post some pictures of the "Skeeter Hawk" here on the forums. It's gorgeous.

I have never read it , but one of my pals has it and he says its OK. Also, do a search on this forum ; tips for throwing tomahawks. It should point you in the right direction.

I bought this nifty little booklet last year. Great book for the novice thrower, like myself. I built a target and was getting sticks in no time, after reading it 2X. It is only a couple of bucks, well worth the money IMHO. NORTHSTARXO; I had no idea that that Skeeter had so much history. He looked like quite a character in the pic, but I had no idea... Thanks for posting! I'll have to do a search on this man.

I'll post pictures of the Skeeter Hawk in the morning. Kenny Rowe made a BEAUTIFUL leather & rattlesnake sheath for it and I have it in an oak & glass display case. It used to be in the main showcase in my store but we don't have a retail location since relocating to Washington from Ohio in 2004. We'll be moving the shop this summer and will have a full forge & retail location.

Here's the pics of that Skeeter Hawk. It didn't look this beautiful initially. We keep it in the oak display case. I also attached a closeup of the sheath that was made by Kenny Rowe of Rowe's Leather in Arkansas.

We're putting a "History" page on our website with all of Skeeter's background as a dedication to him.

And no, the hawk is not for sale! :D
