knife as xmas gift for friend?

I want to get a nice knife for my friend as a christmas gift. Nice meaning better than his dull Gerber Gator and flea market folder. I was thinking a Spyderco Delica SS or Native SS since Spyderco is my favorite production company. What else is a great EDC gift for $50 or less?
 
You've been a member here for a couple years, you should surely know the answer to your question.
 
The buck 110 and 112 are both great knives for their low price, and they are non threatening.

The Camillus EDC would fit the bill. It is remarkably light and compact for the size of its blade. The most recent version with AUS-8 blade should take a real nice edge. The fit and finish of the ones that I have had are excellent.
 
I was recently in the same situation lately. I bought a Spyderco Byrd and BM Pika for my friend. I was extremely impressed with both, especially the Pika. I figured I would buy two for around $50.
