I'm looking for a folding knife 3 inches or below in blade length for legal purpose, spring assisted,or Dual action (if its hidden)
It would have to be able to stand to basic cutting tasks and a little rough play. Also easy on the wallet, Thanks!

Leek, scallion, chive - all awesome

leek with d2 composite blade blems - $38 on this site

I'll second the leek, a whole lot of knife in a little package. I just measured the one I have in my pocket, and the blade measured in under 3 inches.

the blade on the leek is 3". you could get the composite leek or even the S30V leek. even the plain old leek is a great knife.

The smaller Kershaw Cyclone has an on / off switch for the AO and is under 3". They are still around...Check SMKW

Kershaw ! Scallion is a handsome little knife , high quality considering the price , one of the best production knife warranties available and top shelf customer service..... You cannot go wrong !

+1 for the Scallion. Get it in combo edge and it makes a great EDC beater.

Scallion. Good steel, fast action, great lock up, very sturdy little beater of a knife.

I had lots of blade play on the twitch I had, blade steel was too soft for my tastes too.

Hmm.. Gerber Evo Tanto. They advertise it with a 2.75" blade but I measured the blade and it is 3". It has a TiNi coating for added rust prevention and it is only $20. You can replace it if you lose it. The blade can be activated with the thumbstud or the flipper.
