A few that I enjoy:
Knives Points of Interest by Jim Weyer. all 5 of them.(my favorite, but I am into Customs)
Master of the Forge by B.R. Hughes and C. Houston Price (Anything these two write is all good. This one is on Bill Moran.)
Moran Fire and Steel by Wayne Holter
The Antique Bowie Knife Book by Bill Adams
Knife Collectors Guide Roy Ritchie and Ron Stewart (Good traditional pattern factory reference.)
Levin's Guide to Knives and Their Values Invaluable in identifying older knives and establishes a good relative value of the pattern and the manufacturer.
Official Price Guide to Collector Knives C. Houston Price (Another good factory reference.)
American Premium Guide to Knives & Razors Jim Sargent (Yet another good factory reference by a very knowledgable author.)
Pocket Knife Traders Guide James Parker (ditto from directly above),
The Best of Knife World There is at least 3 volumes (one and two might be be tough to find). More of Mr. Price, Mr. Hughes and others packed full of information from custom to factory to military knives and razors.
Moran - 50 Yrs Anniversary Knives by Dominique Beaucant. (You guessed it I am a Moran fan.)
Goins Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings (Invaluable for identification of older knives.)
Knives [Annuals] edited by Ken Warner. Great source for makers, knife supplies, engravers, sheath makers, scrimshanders, dealers, production companies and knife organizations. Another good annual is the Gun Digest Book of Knives .
There are a couple of newer books out that I want to get my hands on. One on Sheffield and the other on Spyderco.
The guide type books by Ritchie, Stewart, Price, Sargent, Parker and Levin are not very expensive. Using them all together (with Goins on occasions) provides a solid reference.
