KNOW OF ANY GREAT KNIFE MAKING BOOKS? or magazines? and maybe welding.........

thx for any info..... :p

"$50 Knife Shop" bt Wayne Goddard and "The Complete Bladesmith" by Jim Hrisoulas are the best two books I can think of for just starting out.

If I had to choose just one for starting, it would be "Custom Knifemaking" by Tim McCreight.

I'm just starting out and I bought:
$50 Knife shop (Goddard)
Wonder of knifemaking (Goddard)
Step by step knifemaking (Boye)

For me the one by Boye was by FAR the most informative. I read the first two and still had many questions and doubts as to how I would do things. Reading Boyes book I kept saying OK that's how I'll do it.

The nice thing about "$50 Knife Shop" is that it spends time on both forging and stock removal, helping you decide which is for you if you haven't yet.
