ok so...i recieved some money for xmas from my cousins who like to flex their wealth around people (doesn't bother me, i get to buy more stuff

)
so...what should i get?
right now my daily carry is a BM 710BT, also have a Gerber SLG as well as a bunch of other knives...
ok so, i'm looking for something with a blade between 3.5 and 4 inches. it's gonna be something that could be a daily carry used for light-moderate cutting (i'll use my 710 for work, but i want this knife to be worth its money in cutting ability) and self defense (but not specifically for that). i also don't wanna scary too many sheeple if i pull it out.
i'm open to any suggestions, but right now i've narrowed my own list to (ohh yeah, i wanna spend around or less than $150):
-BM 750 Pinnacle
-BM large AFCK
-BM 940 Osborne
-Al Mar SERE 2000
-Boker Brend Tacticle folder (cocobolo or G-10 handles)
-Gerber Walker
-Microtech LCC (if this, which finish?)
-Spyderco Bob Lum Chinese folder (does anyone know if this has a chisel grind?)
-REKAT Carnivore

please tell me what you think of these knives and feel free to suggest other ones.
thanks a lot and hope everyone has a great new year

If you don't mind the size, I would go with the LCC in stone washed. The blade might have a scary effect to some sheeple, but I believe the elegant pattern of the carbonfiber gives this blade a social acceptability. It has the MT's great QC and the lock up is very solid.

The Lum and 750 are also great knives with excellent designs. I personally tend to stick to thumb studs for opening though. If you don't mind the Spyderco hole this knife is very slender and well built. The 750 has a very strong lock up due to it's mono lock, and it has a blade designs that works very well for cutting.

I can't really comment on the other designs but if your looking for a very strong lock up, I believe you can't go wrong with any of the axis locks.

I go with sigsauer, but I disagree on finish if you're trying not to offend the sheeple. The bead-blast finish is much more muted. But hey, any LCC is better than most knives, and you cannot go wrong with any finish. It has become my daily carry.--OKG

You have mentioned a lot of good knives. If you do not want to scare people the Bob Lum Chinese Folder would be a great choice. My overall pick would be the SERE 2000, but this is a big knife that looks dangerous. Don't worry about the Spydie hole, it works great.

I would pick a BM 42A. My current dilema is between that a Sifu and a CUDA. Have fun deciding

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.

LCC- either stonewash or bb. Minimal care should keep either one rust free. This has got to be the best knife for the money bar none. Once you get your first MT there's no going back!

The Lum Chinese is not chisel ground. It is double beveled and is flat ground. The Lum Chinese has a very wide blade. It is obvious that this design has its roots as a utility/kitchen knife. It should be a heck of a slicer and of course, VG-10 sharpens very easily and takes an ultra keen edge. The Lum also makes for a good pocket knife because it is very light (2.75 oz.) and extremely thin. The only downside to me is that the clip rides rather high in the pocket. Compared to the other knives you want, it is smaller but it is not a really small pocket knife. In fact, the overall length of the Lum Chinese is somewhere between the Native and the Viele.

LCC Stonewash or the SERE 2000. Both are excellent knives.

The stonewash finish looks better, doesn't rust as easily, and hides scratches. It is my favorite finish n a using knife.

Spyderco Chinese Folder or Shabaria. Both VG-10 blade steel, both under $150.00, both under 4" long, and both blade shapes been in use for "everything" for a looong time.

I favor the REKAT Carnivore myself. I really live that tough little knife(it's little compared to the Sifu

) The Spyderco Military
wasn't on your list, you should consider that one also, it is a great knife. I was using mine to slice through boxes at work before Christmas, I couldn't believe how well it worked.

Can't really go wrong with any of your choices though. Good knife hunting.

thanks for all your suggestions and input.
i think i'm gonna go for a LCC with the stonewash finish and serrations.
i'll probably eventually go back and get all the other ones some time later
