It looks like leuku but he manage to make this laplandian butcher knife very elegant. The very same thick an stout handle looks like calla flower, and little bit of ornament just accent this gently... And guard shape just play same music as blade and handle... Amaizing!

And what most important - blade quality of this very russian knife is now assured by A2 + Paul Bos heat treatment.

Thanks, Vassili.

  WOWWW!!!!
Very gracefull, elegant, and the flow lines of the knife and sheath are beautiful together. The scroll work and the acorn nut (:) ) are priceless.

Thanks for sharing this beauty.

Stunning. I love the shape, the engraving, and the wood. The indented bottom of the handle is a great touch.

Simply beautiful,

That is simply beautiful!

It has a real "old world" look to it that is fantastic.
Great job.
And great pictures too.

I find many Russian knives to be at the top of the knifemakers' art.

And this is his first knife in US after very long delay. He made knives back in Russia years ago - learned from the best, and now he is trying to came back to it here - which has no legal implication (in Russia you need to be very careful not to cross the line of law) and easyer to get very goo steel as well as good heat treatment. I do not know is it really Russian knife - he is here for a while as I understand. Anyway - I am looking forward for more knives from Dmitry.

Thanks, Vassili.

That`s a very well made knife, Dmitry!

Looks more than cool!
I like the shape of the handle as well as the blade.

Would like to see some more of your work!

Thanks for sharing, nozh2002!
