Howdy,

I am wondering if you all could help me out....

I am headed to the Knife Show in Tacoma, this weekend, and it is on the aft end of a vacation, which finds me in Salem OR.

So, I have been to Northwest Knives in Salem, it's sister store, Portland Cutlery of Portland, and Hawthorne Cutlery of Portland.

I am planning on contacting Kershaw and Benchmade about tours and such...

Does anyone have the number to Lone Wolf? I want to arrange a tour if possible, and I would also like to put my hands on a couple knives, none of my regular retailers carry their stuff.

Any knife stores that I should visit, between Salem OR and Tacoma WA? Other stores that happen to have great knife selections?

How about knife stores in Tacoma?

Any makers that I should try to visit?

Also, any ideas about good outdoor, camping or fishing stores?

Any other factories I should try to visit?

Are there any others on my way, other than Gerber and CRKT? I know the Kopromed guy is in Vancouver, but I am going to see him in Eugene...

What about Al Mar, is there something to visit?

And BladeTech, can you visit them? If they are conveniently located, I would like to....

Anway, I am a knife guy, and I am also into outdoor, camping and fishing stuff, and I am travelling from Salem OR to Tacoma WA, so any suggestions would be appreciated...

Thank you,
Marion

Ambitious trip my friend. Please post your impressions of the Tacoma show.

I visit Excalibur regularly for eye candy. They stock a terrific inventory of quality product. The staff is knowledgeable. One (Wa Sq), at least, is scary talented with flying his butterfly.

Best,

Now that you mention it, I did go to Excalibur in WA Sq, and it was pretty good.

Thanks for the suggestions and the phone number.

I visited Al Mar knives some years back ( before Al's passing ) I was not greeted very warmly to say the least. Pehaps new ownership has brought about a new attitude. Although, I must say that experience has not dulled my penchant for Al Mar cutlery.
Also, you might contact SOG they are about an hour north of Tacoma.
Good Luck
Allan

Blade-Tech is just south of Tacoma. They are the kydex/plastic-masters who make Tek-Lok belt clips for sheaths, as well as a bunch of other items. Tim Wegner, the owner, is also the designer for the Pro-Hunter folder (the folder in this pic)among other designs he's come up with over the years.
