A few months ago I needed a good, sharp knife to cut a ham at a family dinner. Since my mora was on the counter at the time, and (sadly) sharper than any of my kitchen knives I used it. After cleaning the blade was stained and I cant figure out how to remove the stain and make the blade shiny again. Heres a couple pics and if needed I can post more.

It's called a patina and should be easily removed with any metal polish for example flitz.

Lol this is currentlythe only knife I own in carbon steel that isnt coated . Wasnet sure if that would polish off. Thank you for the help

I was at a family picnic last week and used my tops BOB to cut the watermelon. When I got home, my knife had some pretty bad staining.

I will try polishing it out.
Thanks

I wouldn't remove it, a patina protects from rust (to a certain degree) and if you use the knife, its gonna stain anyway.
Some people even think its cool and force a patina with vinegar, mustard and whatnot. PLenty of examples in the traditional or BK&T subforums.
You can even do tigerstripes or camouflage patterns :p
