I have somewhat of an issue with the types of knives that I'm comfortable carrying and no, it has nothing to do with the size/weight of them. It's more so that I happen to be predominantly left handed and am hesitant to carry and operate a knife with that hand (more chance to cut myself by accident in my head). Has anyone else had this issue? How should I go about trying to remedy it? I don't like being short changed on being able to purchase or use a knife that I really like just because of the lack of a left hand carry option.

Try a LH Spyderco Military or Benchmade Axis lock or DPX LH HEST2.Also Spyderco lockbacks like the Delica or Endura work well for us lefties. If you think the knife industry short changes us left handed people go and try to find some left handed underwear!:D

AXIS locks and lock backs are safe for us lefties. I also have the left hand HEST 2.0 but honestly I'm so used to right hand frame locks that it seems backward. I always use two hands to close liner/frame locks, So no worries about getting cut. For one hand operation the AXIS lock is the way to go.

And don't forget about the Chris Reeve knives all offered left handed.

I'm a lefty too and have tried each of the knives recommended above and CRK with great success.

I'm left handed and I carry Benchmades or Sypdercos or Kershaws that are ambidextrous.

I normally carry ambidextrous knives, but with all the other EDC gear I carry, my left side is normally very crowded to say the least (gun, knife (more than one at times), flash light, wallet etc). Pretty much everything but my car keys is on my left side.

When I got into knives, left handed options were pretty limited. I just carry all knives on my right side now. I do quick, simple tasks using my right hand, but more complex tasks require the precision of my dominant hand so I just pass the knife over to it. Not ideal, but it's reality. Don't let non-lefty knives scare you away. Adapt and overcome!

Just got a new HTM Forum Gunhammer in S90V. Can't pass it up just because we are wrong handed.

I carry my Glock on my right side, because I shoot right hand also. I figure I won't need to be holding both, so they share a side.
