Hi all,

I'm traveling to Germany (Heidelberg) in December and want to know if I can carry while on vacation.

Thanks.

Knife carry laws are regulated by Germany's Waffengesetz (WaffG).
Article 1 subpart 2 defines weapons also as stabbing items.

All common pocket knives and fixed blades can be bought by anyone. Daggers, swords and bajonets can only be bought by people over the age of 18. They can be carried concealed, however, certain types are not allowed in public or in public buildings.

Since April 1st 2003 the possession of balisongs is prohibited. Self opening knives over 8.5 cm (3 1/4 blade) are prohibited, so are blades which are camouflaged as walking sticks or pens, or blades that have a 90 degree t-handle.

Every time I go over, I use it as another excuse to buy another Victorinox....
