Hi everyone!

I'm getting married this August in the DR and was wondering if anyone has any experience or knowledge about the knife laws down there? Blade length, concealment issues, prohibited weapon definitions? As well, any information about the general attitude towards knives being carried would be appreciated.

You should beware of attitude toward Americans, With all the kidnappings, police coruption we should stay away from third world countries. Any country that doesn't speak english is third world in my opinion. Hope you stay safe, theres no place like home...Sorry about the rant thats how i feel....

I'm sure that's news to a lot of folks on these boards. Fred Perrin, Nemo, and the rest of that group immediately spring to mind.

(My apologies for the lack of on topic content, Rumble -- did a pretty extensive web search trying to find stuff, as I'm sure you did too -- couldn't find a thing. Not sure what to tell you.)

JamesA, thanks for the reply.
I'll probably end up calling or emailing the local consulate on the topic...I didn't expect to find anything on this through the web.

Butcher, thanks for the well-wishes. Much appreciated! :)
But I would have to disagree with you on the generalization that any non-Engligh speaking country is third world. Although, you are entitled to your opinion.

Cheers!
