hey guys, just wondering if anyone can help me out with knife carry rules in Washington state.

I gave a spyderco millie to my brother, who does business in seattle weekly.
That knife is kosher to carry here (Canada) but he wants to know if its gonna fly in Washington state, or Seattle?

thanks

By State law, folders of any length are fine. I'd avoid fixed blades as they cannot be concealed and carry can be problematic due to the ambiguity of the law carrying in a manner that alarms people.

In Seattle, a folder one carries must have a blade less than 3.5 inches long. This applies to both concealed and open carry.

Spyderco Military has a 4" blade, so he might have a problem in the city.

He hit it on the head. WA state from my understand doesn't have a specific length law. However, each city has its own ordinance and which have different length rules. I'm pretty sure Seattle is a 3.5 '' length limit, but to be 100% safe, I would advise you to call Seattle PD and ask them.:)
