If I buy a knife for around 25-30 dollars do they send a free catalog. People are saying that you get a free one if you have a decent sized order, but how much do you actually have to spend? Anyone have experience?

I've purchased from them pretty regularly for several years and had orders exceeding $350 and never received a catalog.

I've spent $200 to $300 w/ them in various purchases over the last six months or so and don't recall ever receiving a catalog from them.

Hardly any dealers send out a catalog, with the inventory and prices changing so often and the cost of printing and mailing a catalog that is often incorrect in short order, it's just not feasible. Most only have a easier and cheaper to maintain website.

The only knife catalogs I've seen have been from manufacturers (Boker, Spyderco, Benchmade), not dealers.

They are just trying to cover the shipping cost, so any order would do, since their base shipping charge is $7.95. Adding the catalog might kick the shipping to $8.90, but thats it.
They don't automatically include it in a order, you have to ask for it.
If you want verification, just give them a call...nice folks.

It's a huge catalog, 1000+ pages on semi-glossy stock. Tons of pics.
It's not really their catalog. It's a generic industry catalog, but KC says they have or can get most items in it.
It is not up-to-the-minute but its pretty current.

The catalog was $11 last time I recieved one. That did not include shipping. The catalog does not include every knife they have and not all descriptions are in detail. Autos are also not listed. I'd give the catalog 7 out of 10.

If you enter CATALOG in KC's search buttom it gives the info on it. I was told on the phone they give credits equal to the price, but that's not what their web page says. Does say they give you a 7.95 shipping credit...against a $12 cost.

At any rate, I received mine FREE with my order last week.
Again...you do have to ask for it if your placing an order.

Since there are almost no other catalogs (or none I've found) it's hard to rate it. For free, I'm more than happy with it. :D
