Hi all,

I was wondering if any one had a step by step directions for cleaning folders.

Most of my folders are Spyderco/ William Henry.
I assume just soap (dish) and water. Dry it out with an air compressor, then oil the blade and pivot (need reccomendation for oil).
Another idea was to use a ultrasonic jewelry cleaner, but I am not sure. I have all varieties of steel and the scales are all varieties from stag to g10 to steel to titanium etc.

I am a novice so I do not have the skill to take apart the knives to clean them.

Thanks

Paul

At least for my normal folders, every few months i will unscrew the whole thing and just clean it and oil it. that will probably work on your spydercos, but i am not sure about the william henrys. i just use Q-tips and rub it down, then apply a bit of oil to the pivot and washers. put it all back together and you are good to go.

Wash it using soap-old toothbrush and cotton swabs. Drain well the knife using a hairdryer. After that, a couple of drops of oil, it will be like new)))
