I purchased an Opinel from them and it took forever for it to get to my home - and I live in Maryland. (they're in Silver Spring) All that said, and I will probably order from them again.

Anyway, I'm more interested in posting links to "Specials/Clearances" webpages where there is merchandise marked for clearance or close out.

Seems like there's more out there...just can't seem to find 'em.

ordered one knife 3 month ago (100$+)

before ordering asked if it in stock, he said yes
I placed order
anfter 2 weeks and 3 e-mails I finaly got answer: knife OOS, availability date unknow. I canseled my order and got my knife after 4 days.
I returned it.. and from that point I can't get any andwer to my e-mails. had to dispute charges with credit card company.
After I placed my order in average only 1 from 3 e-mails were answered, and whaiting time was from 1 to 4 days. (before I place my order all answers came within 24h)

Bottom line: worst place to buy stuff. (at least if you new client and don't buy volume). Never buy form them again.

P.S. who runs online business from dial-up these days anyway ?
 
I thought it was a bit strange when I called and just got a "Hello" on the other end. At first, I thought I had dialed the wrong number, but that's how he answers the phone.

Perhaps times are tough. Hope everything straightens out with time.
 
I tried to order one item from www.discountknives.com a couple of years ago.

Whoever the proprieter is (can't remember the name) is extremely erratic both in behavior and temper. Right up there with Botach for me in terms of achieving new levels of bad customer service.

In regard to original thread, I use either www.knifeworks.com or www.newgraham.com. Their regular prices are better than most companies "closeout" prices and their service is superior.

That nwcutlery "specials" page hasn't seemed to change in months if not years.
