I'd have to say, this is the first time I've seen something like this in the 'custom made' category...

As confiscated prison shanks, pretty much. The auction will be over by this evening I'll link it again then.
 
That's interesting, Ebay back in the old days, sold a few big collections of them. I remember one was like 65 pieces.

I remember that one. It inspired my then 10 year old to start sharpening to a pointed end, anything he could and wrapping it with tape or a rag. Looked just like the ones in the OP.

I can't find the sale.
I'm wondering if a prison worker is selling things he took illegally from the prison, or if it's a company that buys this type of stuff from the prisons???

A simple search on ebay for prison shanks found it... Also the ebay description says they came from an auction
 
I did that and somehow overlooked them, but just went back and found them. Thanks.


Now I get why the price is so high. They are listed as "Vintage":p



IM0 you would have to be a little messed up to want that stuff. Very Odd.

I sort of thought that myself, but then I realized the one with the 'scabbard' has a handle and the 'scabbard' made from individually softened and pressed together bits of old plastic. Seems like more trouble than a scammer would go through...but who knows?

I certainly agree with that sentiment. I can't imagine the bad juju attached to those bits of scraps. But hey, things with way worse juju get collected all the time I guess.
