At first I thought this was a joke. "Get a Life-Bin That Knife." When I realized it was real I felt sick.:barf: I wonder how many people use this thing?

It looks like it is made out of some sort of plastic though. Somebody needs to take a Sawzall to it.

(I wasn't sure where to post this, but I'm sure Cougar will put it in the big white moving truck if I screwed up.)

The inner city or mid town knife crimes are up all over the country. In bigger cities it is quite common for them to have their own knife laws as to legal length and what not separate from the state. Memphis Tn no longer allows pawn shops to sell them, in Chicago anything longer than 3" is illegal. The list goes on. I think many of the reasons for the 'mini' craze in the last few years is due to the changes in the industry for many folks that like knives but live in the inner city where the one they like can't be carried. I consider my Salt and my Delica to be great knives but in some cities even those smallish knives could get you arrested. (probably the reason the new Delica has a shorter blade)

Actually, I put that there. It's being shipped to my house once it's full.:D

I'm goint to put one of those by my house. Probably get a ton of chinese crap that I'd have to haul to the landfill, but someone would eventually drop me a goody. :)

i wonder what the penalty is for trying to cash out on one of those?

looks like you could hide in that crevice and take your time sawing a hole in it with your SAK ! :)

Hey neat! Think I'll get one of those. Now, where would be the best place to put em?

:D :D :D

It says “Working together for a safer London” at the bottom of the bin. It’s weird how all the anti-knife stuff that comes out of the UK still has the ability to shock me.

Damnit, I thought this was gonna be a thread about pooling our old/unwanteds and dividing them up! Sorta like a white elephant deal, but sharper. This is the biggest dissapointment of my week.
And here I thought I had a chance to give away my 4 Kershaw Bear Hunters.

I guess we'd have to separate the cheapy China and Taiwan made crap from the good ones by making two bins. Kind of like the aluminum recycle cans and the trash cans. ;)

It should say "Working together to strip away your Freedoms for a false sense of security" :barf:

That just makes you sick, and you know someones gonna drop something in there. My vote is every knive lover drop a steamy pile of crap in a narrow tupperware thing that says FU on it and slide it in the bin.

After the realization that it wasn't a joke, I just wondered who would use it. I don't think the average criminal is going to be coerced into giving up their shank because of a blue plastic bin.

At least they were thoughtful enough to put the thing on wheels for easy removal.

Didn't the UK previously fingerprint knives after they were turned in? That and you're almost certainly on camera if you were to use this...

Why not put up a sign "Welcome to the Police State, you have the right to live in fear".

Who is going to drop a knife in there? Maybe, some thug, after he's stabbed someone, and wants to hide the evidence. :D

That is horrible.

I wonder how many knives are in there and if there are any good brands? I wonder who gets to pick through them?
