I recently acquired a knife collection. I bought it because I thought it was a good deal. I am totally ignorant about knives so that might not be the case. I am having a difficult time identifying and pricing these knives. I have bought several books which were pretty much useless and tried to use the Internet without much luck. I was hesitant to ask this question considering the sarcastic remarks I received from my first post but I am a gutsy guy. I have some 50 or 60 knives both straight and folding. Some of the names are morseth, Randall made, huesky, K. bar, case, Remington bullet, Queen, buck, Western, marbles ( old and new), and many more. What would be the best way of finding out exactly what I got?

For most I would go to the appropriate sub forum and post some pics and ask for info. Randall ect..for the traditional folders ask and post pics in the traditional forum. Your not allowed to ask for values as a registered user but with some additional info you can pretty easily look them up on ebay to get a close value.

Good answer from AntDog, but I will add that to ask about the value of the knives you need to be a paying member that can sell ie Gold and above. Good luck!

I bet most of those you can look up using Google. Brand name, model name, etc. Use the Search feature here at Bladeforums; I doubt there are many brand-name knives that have never been discussed. Keep records of what you find.

Anything you can't figure out, use the Bernard Levine's Knife Identification sub-forum. Be aware that to get good information, you need to provide good information, specifically photos. Good, in focus, well-lighted photos. Overview of the entire knife and closeups of any markings, tang stamps, and special features.

Good Luck in your search!

I would recommend paying someone that specializes in the field (Bernard Levine) to provide you with accurate answers. There would be no guess work, no random " I think it's this one or is it?" type responses.
