It seems that people who collect knives also have other hobbies that are indirectly or directly related to knives or weapons.

I, for one, also collect blowpipes, catapults and swords. I was thinking of bows at one time but my better half frowned on it. Anyway, there was no room in my house or around my house for target practice.

Walking sticks seem to be another interesting pastime. Well, that's also mine anyway.

I am quite sure there are others like me who seem to be inclined towards hobbies like that.

Am I alone in all this?

I collect....... this is really embarrassing....... yo-yos. Donald Duncan did mention once that were used at one time as a hunting weapon, dropped from trees onto unsuspecting animals.

I build scale model cars from 1925 to say 1958. I customize, hand paint and detail each one. Some I make retro like a 50 ford in black primer that looks like it just came out of the movie "BlackBoard Jungle" and display old picklocks with them. Nothing like a second childhood .

Jerry Garcia-style improvisational blues/bluegrass guitar soloing. I've been doing it since I was ten and I'm only getting better with age!

Hmmmmm.... Besides being a knife collector I am an Independant Insurance Agent,(I know, I know) and a Gun Dealer (that should make up for the insurance part) so I have acquired a good collection of firearms, recurve bows, and obsolete ammo. I also enjoy collecting motor parts, and rebuilding motors and the vehicle I put it in. I am working on my 5th rebuild/restore which is an 83 Jeep CJ-7 and I am will be done as soon as the floor mat comes in. Good post, enjoyed it!

Aside from knives I collect Popeye the sailor man antiques, fish, Kayak(This summer) shoot, catch poisonous snakes(Rattlesnakes and copperheads) Throw tomahawks, and Buzzbait will find this one particularly interesting, I am a yo-ist(yo-yo user) at the expert level. I also like hiking, camping, and I play Dungeons And Dragons every wednesday for about 20 years now. At one time I was a verry accomplished sculptor, I just don't "feel it" lately. I have been studying combat/martial arts for about 20 years. Well, I think that is all I can think of right now, but I am picking up new hobbies all the time

I smoke premium hand-rolled cigars. And yes, it is concidered a hobby. Just check out some of the cigar bbs and you'll see the ppl posting are just as serious about cigars as we are about kuh-nives...

As one dimensional as it sounds, knives are pretty much it for me, besides eating, sleeping and aggrivating the wife. Good topic, but more in line with the community forum, so off it goes!
