I just saw my first TV knife commercial this morning. BUT, it was on a obscure channel, Versus and it was only 15 seconds long. Still it was a commercial selling a knife. It was on during the America's Cup race one at 8:30 AM and it showed the commercial in the first 15 minutes and then showed it quite a few times later on. It will air again today a 6 PM. I can only guess the audience for this program was pretty small.

It was for a Wenger Knife. Here is the link to the knife and it also has a link to the commercial.

Not a big deal, but it was something I have never seen before. By the way, it is only $135.

It must have really impressed you to take the time to post it.
How many are YOU goin' get .....

I've seen a few knife commercials on the "Outdoor Channel", but don't really remember which companies. I watch Versus occasionally (Tapout, WEC), but haven't seen that commercial yet.

As for the knife. While I really like the design, Victorinox has already done it with the One-handed Trekker, Fireman, and Rescue models. Victorinox also has much better placement for the serrations on the blade. The Trekker doesn't have pliers, but for the better blade and $100.00 less cash, I think it's a much better deal.

Vic must have some reason for the price, I guess it's the brand tie-in.
I guess because Alinghi is the defender of the America's cup. It does seem a bit high to me also. The Swiss won the Cup 5 years ago and are defending this year, hence this special knife. My guess is, I can buy it on-line somewhere in a few weeks for a smaller price.

Now, don't ask me how a country with no connection to the sea can win the biggest sailing trophy in the world???

No, the price is high because it is a very big knife. The combo blade is a full 4 inches long. And it is heavy. More so than my Vic Swisstool! Definitely a tool to rely on if you're doing some serious sailing.

Chris:) :) :)

Because the Swiss have all of the money! Sailing is ferociously expensive- even more so than auto racing.
