Knife Companies Design Flaws

I really wonder what the process knife companies do on a knife from design to production and post production.
I've bought some great knives from major manufacturers of knives.
I have bought a knife then while using it discovered.......
The pocket clip is a hot spot.
Gimping too sharp......
Knife handle edge should be rounded off......
Lock tab is a hot spot or too far out from handle......
and other design flaws.
Do these makers choose style over functionally ?
Are these knives really field tested by a real knife user ?
Most are not deal breakers or I can modify the knife.
Any thoughts ????

Never had issues with sharp corners etc. hurting my hands. I must be sub-normal when it comes to sensitivity.

Not everyone's hands are the same shape. What a hot spot is for you might fit the next person like a glove.

I also think there is a difference in design philosophy. Ergonomics/Function vs Artistic value. For instance Sal at Spyderco puts emphasis on functionality first. But many people don't "get" the design at first until they use it.

I also believe that most knives are designed with pocket clips as a after thought. Doesn't matter the brand but removing the clip always makes the knife feel much better for me. But the clip is more useful for me then the extra comfort so they stay on lol.
