At the bottom of a two story escalator in Grand Central Station I saw an older woman laying on her back, a younger woman was bending over her but wasn't able to lift her up. Ah ha, I thought, her scarf is caught in the escalator, this is going to be a good knife PR day. So I run over to them with my hand on the handle of a BRKT Little Creek in my pocket. I got to them quickly only to find she wasn't wearing a scarf. So I grumbled to myself and stepped over her and got on the escalator :grumpy:

Just kidding, of course. The woman helping her had a bad shoulder and I was able to easily lift her up and she was fine with no apparent injuries. But had she been wearing a scarf, it coulda easily have gotten caught and I'm sure she woulda been happy that a nearby citizen was carrying a knife :D

Good to see you are a ready Rescue Ranger. There would be 100 gawkers to 1 rRR. Stay vigil, and at the ready with knife.

Where was security? I fell down once right alongside the clock in the middle of the main floor, and I looked up to see an Army lieutenant, National Guardsmen, and NYPD. :D

This was deep in the bowels of the station at the 7 train strop. The military presence is usually at street level or on the main concourse :)
