While looking for some links for Old Otter's "Knife Cultures" thread, I ran into a 1996 Ohio court case on the carrying of the Kirpan - a symbolic dagger - by members of the Sikh religion. The appellate court ruled that the prosecutors and the trial court had behaved rather badly.
