Knife Day

As part of the joyous celebration use your knife to cut up some food since today is also National Peach Pie Day and National Waffle today. Tomorrow, if you have any celebration left, pull out your knife and use it again since tomorrow is National Banana Split Day and National Whiskey Sour Day—not to mention National Secondhand Wardrobe Day.

I've been aware of National Knife Day (Aug. 24th) now for the past three years. Was a little disappointed that no one online or at retail had any sales going on to commemorate the day. Shame on the knife industry for a missed opportunity to really increase sales.

I saw a few places were having sales to celebrate Knife Day, but none really had any Bucks on sale.

It's probably the knife industry that got National Knife Day started. I imagine the free internet word of mouth makes more people think about knives than would a million dollars of advertising.

I subscribe to emails from just about every online knife retailer and knife manufacturer and my inbox leading up to the weekend was pretty bare. I was hoping for some nice sales, and was ready to spend money too but seem like most of the knife industry was oblivious. Guess we'll have to just wait a few months for Black Friday instead.
