hello everyone, just wanted to get some opinions on a design I just drew out on paper, wanted it to be a good edc knife as well as a good general hunting/outdoor knife, the blade is going to be roughly 1.25 at the widest down by the sharpening notch, it has a short straight edge going into a long belly with a slight upsweep on the tip for finer point control, the idea isn’t to do any sort of chopping with it, more slicing and cutting, let me know what you think and if anything looks out of proportion or would look better shifted around.

drop the point a bit and make a template first to feel how it feels in hand.
the top of the end of the handle may irritate your hand

It does not look to bad. I like knives with a swept up point. The eyes naturally like curves. The only thing I would change is the handle length. With shaped handles you want around 4.5” or the swell at the butt will be uncomfortable. I think 5” is way to long on a handle like that. But make a template and if the butt of the knife extends out past the end of your hand then your good to go. I would 86 the bolster as it will add more complication to the build. This is considering you being a new maker. If you extend the handle length I would increase the blade length a little. You could reduce the belly of the blade a little by bringing the sweep forward and adding a short straight section after your choil. It looks like a nice skinning knife with the swept up point. But if it’s a skinning knife I would ditch the choil as thy allways seam to catch on stuff. But all in all it looks good

Here ya go.
I agree, loose the bolster and the choil. Looks good otherwise!
