Knife design/style

Is there a name for the style of knife that has a "see through design"?

For example (and pleas forgive my over simplification of all this) with my Byrd Crow I can look "through" the knife, there is not a solid spine.

On my Endura, its completely solid.

Does this make sense?

I have heard it called pillar construction.

I usually hear "open construction", "pillar construction" or "flow through design/construction".
